We had the opportunity to revisit one of our recent house conversions. Architecture was by CASA who presided over a complete refurbishment and extension to the existing detached house. Engineering issues were significant with no previous information on existing structure and the need to realise double height spaces and extensive glazed openings. The building sits in the Fullers Earth formation and foundation design included provision for terraced garden and a reinforced concrete carp-pond extended from the building sub-structure.
